Discover 6 Must Too Good To Go Buys

Too Good To Go 6 Best Buys

Too Good To Go is a fantastic app that offers surplus food at heavily discounted prices, helping you save money on everyday essentials. Here are top six products you’ll never have to buy at regular stores again once you start using Too Good To Go.

Say goodbye to mediocre supermarket bread and hello to high-quality bakery goods

1. Bakery Items

After moving to Belgium, I struggled a lot with the bread quality here. Back in Poland, I was used to getting high-quality bread, even at the supermarkets. Whatever it is, that Colruyt offers under the name “brood”, is more like a disheartening creation that feels as light as air. So, then I learned that I needed to start buying bread in a bakery. Genius!

The problem was that my taste buds were used to the high-end 6 euros per small loaf kind of bread, but my wallet was only ready for the Colruyt “delicacy”. Too Good To Go solved this problem. The only downside is that the bread I’m getting is having its last breaths before it turns stale. The good news is that bread in general freezes well, so I usually just keep a few slices at hand and the rest in the freezer.

It's tempting to buy sweet treats, but be mindful of your health and opt for balanced choices

2. Sweet treats are the most prevalent Too Good To Go items

Now be careful with this one. It’s extremely easy to get lots of sweet stuff off the app. Doughnuts, pastries, cakes, cookies – you name it. It is one of the main items that shops have left at the end of the day, and thus it’s something that you will find very often. If you care about your health, try to avoid these shops, you will still be left with plenty of options offering regular food.

Enjoy a variety of fresh produce from local stores at unbeatable prices

3. Fresh fruits and vegetables

Bread and fresh produce are the main items that I get via the app. It does oftentimes leave me with ingredients that I didn’t even know existed, but as a culinary explorer – I don’t mind it at all. I’m not sure if I can say the same about my boyfriend, but I guess he doesn’t have a choice 😀 It pushes me to be creative in the kitchen and while sometimes my creations are only worth being forgotten, it’s still a huge money-saver.  I talk more about cooking with Too Good To Go food in this post

Hotels often offer cheese as part of their breakfast buffet packages

4. Cheese

How to find stores that offer cheese on Too Good To Go? It’s very easy, they are usually hotels. To find cheese, look for hotels that offer breakfast buffet packages. Sometimes, they ask you to bring your own container. If that’s the case, then you can be almost sure that you’ll grab some cheese. You will also probably be able to get some eggs, but as you might expect – they will be cooked.

While convenient, remember to balance takeaway meals with home-cooked alternatives

5. Takeaway Food

In this category, I include everything from sandwiches and pasta to pizza and curry. But here, similarly, as with the sweet treats, I suggest you be mindful about them. All those things will always be cheaper and healthier when made from scratch. But if you’re not feeling like cooking one day, that’s a great option for you!

Enjoy tasty Japanese cuisine from local restaurants without breaking the bank

6. Sushi

Who doesn’t like sushi? I’m sure such people exist, but I am not one of them. If you fancy these Japanese treats, then Too Good To Go is the best place to get them at a reasonable price. The supermarkets (e.g., Delhaize) will give you a lot more, but less tasty products than the actual sushi restaurants.

If there is anything that I missed, let me know in the comments. Meanwhile, I am inviting you to the post where I talk about the products that you most likely will not get via Too Good To Go, and should go to the store for.
